Grand Island Concert Band

Concert Band consists of students in grades 9-12. The band meets daily with students receiving weekly group lessons. Concert Band is an ensemble committed to performing a high level of standard and contemporary large band repertoire. All the selected works studied and performed, concepts learned, and techniques developed, will enhance the students over all musicianship and appreciation for music. The concert band performs in four concerts a year.  The Concert Band has received Level 5 Gold and Gold Distinction ratings at the New York State since 1996.  They have also received Superior ratings at Dixie Classic Festivals, National Adjudicators Festivals, and Grand National Adjudicators Festivals.  In addition  they have received Outstanding Brass, Percussion and Outstanding soloist. The Concert Band has performed with leading ensembles and conductors including the Amherst Saxophone Quartet, The Maelstrom Percussion Ensemble, The Erie County Wind Ensemble, Col. Arnald Gabriel, Timothy Reynish, Dr. Mark Scatterday, Robert Dilutis, Tim Schwartz, Russel Mickkelson, Dr. Paula Holcomb and David Holsinger.
