Saving the music program, again!

Tonight’s Board of Education meeting is also the second budget input session. The Music Program will once again be a topic of discussion as it’s benefit’s, integrity and importance are scrutinized.. As always, it would be very beneficial if program supporters, parents and students,, have a strong showing and speaking presence. Emphasizing the program benefits to students, how well rounded our students are and how the music program is a vital part of the community are all extremely important speaking points. The fact that our program does this all while understaffed compared to other districts is not to be dismissed as well. If you would like more information about tonight or if you will be able to speak or show your support, please let us know. Voice of the people is only 3 minutes and can just be a proclamation of your support for the program or what it means to you as a parent or student.                 All of the money for the pizza vouchers and discount cards sold must be handed in by this Friday, February 5th in order to be applied to your child’s trip account. The final payment for students and chaperones is due no later than next Friday February 12th. Please remember this is the last day before break.  The student balances are posted in Mr. Allen’s room.                 Attached is an order form for T-shirts designed for the trip if your student or chaperones are interested. These order also have to be in Friday the 12th.                 On Saturday April 30th the Music Boosters have the opportunity to sell 50/50 tickets at the Bandits game for which we will be compensated as a fundraiser. Students are now selling the VFW "Band" cards. They are $10 a each and are good from 3/1/16 thru 3/1/17. There are many Island business discounts that will earn your money back quickly! Student profits will be applied to their Disney trip account. Please contact any Orchestra or Band student or contact us for purchasing.

                Don’t forget that the Music Boosters have an account at Bottle Junction, the bottle redemption center located in the Grand Island Plaza next to Mighty Taco.                 Bring your bottles in, ask them to credit the boosters, sign our sheet and off you go! No counting, touching or waiting involved!!
