The Music Man!!

01/27/2017 11:32

Over 100 Grand Island High School students will bring the story of "The Music Man" to life on stage in three performances Feb. 2-4. This production was chosen because it is funny, warm and touching as the story unfolds of con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to the town promising to train the members of the new band.

Generations of audiences have seen the production and can probably hum along on many of its tunes, including the well-known "Seventy-Six Trombones." But this production has a special surprise ending that is sure to please the audience.

In addition to the cast, students have roles in the stage and technical crew. The pit orchestra will accompany the songs, with special appearances by the high school concert band and wind ensemble members as well as a talented group of middle and elementary school students.

All shows are at 7 p.m. in the Grand Viking Theater at Grand Island High School. Performances are Thursday, Feb. 2; Friday Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4. All shows cost $10 for reserved seating.
